Choi Dae-won was born on November 12, 2000, in Daegu, South Korea. His mother, who is from the Philippines, met his Korean father during a business trip in Manila. They fell in love quickly and got married in Daegu, where Dae grew up. From a young age, Dae showed a remarkable talent for drawing and painting. By the time he was 11, his passion for art was evident, and he decided to pursue this passion academically.At 18, Dae enrolled at Keimyung University, majoring in painting within the Fine Arts faculty. Currently in his third year, he lives independently in Sindang-dong, not far from his university. Despite his parents’ success in running a resort in Daegu, Dae-won is determined to make his own path. He works part-time as a barista and performer at his senior Lee’s coffee shop.Dae-won spent two years in the Philippines during his childhood, which allowed him to learn some Filipino, though his fluency is not as strong as his Korean.Dae’s commitment to his work is obvious through his excellent academic record, not to brag but his artworks consistently earns top marks. He also dedicates time to tutoring junior students in his faculty, a role he takes pride in as it allows him to share his knowledge and passion for art. His juniors admire him not just for his skill, but for his willingness to support and inspire others.Dae-won's relentless pursuit of his dream of owning an art gallery is a testament to his constant determination and passion for art.
